Food

Hello everyone,

how are you doin ?
Today´s topic will certainly make lot of you happy...it´s food :)

Firstly I’d like to talk about my favourite food I like to eat. To be honest , there is a lot of food that makes my stomach feel good , but the best thing I have ever eaten was the meat or cheese lasagna.

However, to stay in my country, I have to say that potato pancakes are really delicious. So I can say , they are also my favourite Czech food ,although they can’t be too oily.
Recipe :

1 large, baking potatoes, like russets, about (8 ounces)
1/2medium onion, (about 4 ounces)
1 egg
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon dry bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon dry thyme
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper
Oil for pan frying
1/3 cup applesauce, for garnish

Using a food processor or a box grater, grate the potato and onion on the large hole into a bowl. Using your hands, squeeze out the excess liquid and place the dry potato onion mixture in a bowl. Add the egg, parsley, flour, breadcrumbs, thyme, lemon juice and seasonings. Mix well. Heat 1/2 cup of oil in a heavy skillet. Add 1/2 cup mounds of potato mixture to the hot oil, and flatten down to a 3/4-inch thick pancake. Turn heat to medium. Cook for 5 minutes on each side, or until crispy and golden. Serve with the applesauce.

ounce = 28,35g
chopped parsley - nasekaná petržel
dry bread crumbs - suché drobky chleba
dry thyme - usušená mateřídouška/thymián
garnish - příloha/ozdoba

But , we shouldn’t only talk about some food but also we should take a look on some drinks , in my case, my favourite non-alcoholic drink is just pure water, we have excellent, pure and delicious water in our town . Of course, I’m not only drinking non-alcoholic drinks, so sometimes I taste alcoholic ones. I don’t like "cheap" alkohol like rum or vodka, so the only alcoholic drinks I’m drinking are various types of Whiskey(especially Jack Daniels :P )

Now, I’d like to introduce you somehow my national cuisine. I don’t find it special , because it has been influenced a lot from the surrounding countries. Czech meals have actually two or more courses.  The first course is soup and the second is the main dish. The main dish often contains meat , because Czech citizens are known of consuming the meat a lot. There is also often served czech beer to the meal. Traditional foods are sirloin with sour cream and Vepřo-knedlo-zelo. Our table manners are mostly the same as the other central European countries, chewing with closed mouth , don’t talk while having a meal etc.

Now, everyone has something , that they would never put into their mouth , in my case it’s some kind of mushrooms , because when I find them in the meal I just stop eating it.

In general , everyone has a different taste , so everybody likes something different , you can hardly find someone , that likes everything as you do.

You should know about...

Consumer Electronics Show -
is the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow organized every year in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Hi all,

today I want to apprise you about some new gadgets in technichal world.

My source is one article on famous Czech server about mobiles and technical stuffs > mobilmania. /Link at the end of the article/

Did you know for example, that there are kinds of applications called "Sleeping apps". This applications can process your sleep with motion and audio sensors and simply will wake you up in the lowest stage of sleep. This has the result that you don´t wake up in the deepest stage of sleep and will be crabby, but wake up in suitable time for you and your morning will be easier. From my own experience I can say that it works really well. You can get this app for 14 days free version to try it.

Another thing I find very interesting and perhaps as the future, is this "clever fork". At first sight you´ll notice it´s a little fatter, now explain why. This fork has got a bluetooth technology inside and if you connect it with your phone and start eating you can see very interesting informations. For example,  the fork will  warn you through your phone when you eat too fast or will display the number of morsels and frequency of your eating. But there are also bad things like you must recharge it every time you finish eating.

Last thing I want you to apprise are "Google Glass". Most multinational companies claim that this technology will be "the next big thing". It is basically the idea that you will not have to pull out your smart phone of a pocket, but you'll have it right in front of your eyes. Glasses should be controlled by voice or by touch. I find it very interesting idea and I wonder how long it will take before these sunglasses come into the world market.

I hope that you find this article a little bit interesting :))
See you soon :))

New Year Resolutions

Hi guys,

with a little delay I wish you all nice enter to year 2013 !
Ehm, ...
I should write you something about my New Year's resolutions, but I never gave any New Year's resolutions, because I think that I'm the type of person that would not last all year doing something just to feel  well. So I think we're at the end.

See you :))

Btw.: I admire all the people who can keep their own resolutions :))

Christmas time

Hi everybody,

how are ya ?

Today, I had to choose between two themes : Christmas wishlist or Christmas tradition ... but, I don´t choose anything, because I think I'll do something between these two topics, but I will pay more attention to Christmas wishlist.

So, I won´t and I actually don´t want to write here a big list of gifts that "Santa Claus will bring me", because I find it little personal and uniformative. Yes, I want some material things, but it´s not necessary for you to know it =P ... but, I will try to do something little different.

First, I have to disappoint all those who believe that the Santa Claus carries the gifts. In our family, we have one rule : Everybody can buy just the thing you are 100% sure that it will be the right gift. Other gifts such as clothing, etc. we always buy together or everyone buys what they like, then we just exchange it. Yes, it´s little crazy, but it works and we avoid the fact that someone will buy wrong size or colour.

And about our traditions, uhm, we decorate the Christmas tree a day before Christmas Eve, we bake Christmas candy, we hold a minute of silence at Christmas dinner and we listen to Christmas carols.

Merry Christmas and happy new year to all ♥ !

Accomodation

Hi guys,

how are you ? :))

I´m writing to say something about a spot where I live/lived :))

I used to live in a district in Decin called Přípeř for 7 years, but we have to move because of my mother´s job.

<< We lived in this detached house. It had entrance hall and the stairs to the second floor. Ground floor were a large kitchen, dining room, a toilet, living room, utility room and a study. Upstairs were three bedrooms, a study, bathroom and storage room. I have many memories of this place.

My current place where I live, is this >>
It is a block of flats, with a population of about 30 people. My family and I live in a flat in the third floor. This block of flats is located in a quiet district in Decin, called Letná. We live here for 13 years and we are very satisfied, but recently, the new neoghbors with a dog moved here and the dog is strongly against to anyone who wants to sleep more than to 7 o´clock ://
