Hello everyone,
how are you doin ?
Today´s topic will certainly make lot of you happy...it´s food :)
Firstly I’d like
to talk about my favourite food I like to eat. To be honest , there is
a lot of food that makes my stomach feel good , but the best thing I
have ever eaten was the meat or cheese lasagna.
However, to stay
in my country, I have to say that potato pancakes are really
delicious. So I can say , they are also my favourite Czech food
,although they can’t be too oily.
Recipe :
1 large, baking potatoes, like russets, about (8 ounces)
1/2medium onion, (about 4 ounces)
1 egg
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 tablespoon flour

1/4 teaspoon dry thyme
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper
Oil for pan frying
1/3 cup applesauce, for garnish

Using a food processor or a box grater, grate the potato and onion on the large hole into a bowl. Using your hands, squeeze out the excess liquid and place the dry potato onion mixture in a bowl. Add the egg, parsley, flour, breadcrumbs, thyme, lemon juice and seasonings. Mix well. Heat 1/2 cup of oil in a heavy skillet. Add 1/2 cup mounds of potato mixture to the hot oil, and flatten down to a 3/4-inch thick pancake. Turn heat to medium. Cook for 5 minutes on each side, or until crispy and golden. Serve with the applesauce.

But , we
shouldn’t only talk about some food but also we should take a look
on some drinks , in my case, my favourite non-alcoholic drink is just
pure water, we have excellent, pure and delicious water in our town . Of course, I’m not only drinking non-alcoholic drinks, so sometimes I taste alcoholic ones. I don’t like "cheap" alkohol like rum or vodka, so
the only alcoholic drinks I’m drinking are various types of Whiskey(especially Jack Daniels :P )
Now, I’d like to
introduce you somehow my national cuisine. I don’t find it special
, because it has been influenced a lot from the surrounding
countries. Czech meals have actually two or more courses. The first
course is soup and the second is the main dish. The main dish often
contains meat , because Czech citizens are known of consuming the
meat a lot. There is also often served czech beer to the meal.
Traditional foods are sirloin with sour cream and Vepřo-knedlo-zelo. Our table manners are mostly the
same as the other central European countries, chewing with closed
mouth , don’t talk while having a meal etc.
Now, everyone has
something , that they would never put into their mouth , in my case
it’s some kind of mushrooms , because when I find them in the meal I just
stop eating it.
In general ,
everyone has a different taste , so everybody likes something
different , you can hardly find someone , that likes everything as
you do.
